THE PRODUCTION LINE

Environmental protection is a strategic commitment for Marcolin. Our approach is based on measurement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
In recent years, we have significantly strengthened our systems for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions by adopting international standards such as the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064. This enables us to quantify our carbon footprint more accurately across the entire value chain, including direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2), and, above all, indirect Scope 3 emissions, which represent the most significant share of our environmental impact.
In 2025, the Group’s total emissions amount to over 59,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, with approximately 91% linked to activities along the value chain. This figure confirms the importance of actively engaging suppliers and partners in our sustainability journey.
At the same time, we invest in strengthening data quality and traceability. The “Data System” project, launched in 2024 and further developed in 2025, has enabled detailed mapping of materials, components, and packaging, with direct involvement of suppliers. This initiative provides a fundamental basis for improving data quality, supporting Life Cycle Assessment analyses, and guiding more informed design decisions.
Sustainability is increasingly integrated into product design. We have launched a structured ecodesign pathway, supported by LCA analyses and the development of environmental indicators, with the aim of steering design choices toward lower-impact solutions. At the same time, we continue to invest in researching innovative materials—such as bio-based acetates, partially bio-based polyamides, and recycled materials—that combine high technical performance with reduced environmental impact.
Another key area is energy efficiency. In recent years, we have implemented targeted interventions across our production sites, including plant optimization, the introduction of remote management systems, and improvements in building efficiency.
Finally, we adopt a responsible approach to managing natural resources and waste, promoting material recovery, waste reduction, and the mindful use of water resources throughout our operations.
