GHG INVENTORY

At Marcolin, respect for the environment is not an abstract principle but a concrete and progressive commitment that begins with measuring the impacts generated by our activities.

For this reason, we adopt a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, allowing us to analyze the environmental impact of our products and processes across the entire value chain, from raw material selection to distribution. Our main indicator is the Carbon Footprint, expressed in tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂eq), in line with leading international standards: the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1:2018.

In 2025, the Group’s total emissions amount to approximately 59,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, of which:

  • Scope 1 (direct emissions): ~4%
  • Scope 2 (indirect energy emissions): ~5%
  • Scope 3 (indirect emissions across the value chain): ~91%

Over time, the company has strengthened data quality by progressively increasing the use of primary data across the value chain and improving data traceability. This process has enabled the definition of an increasingly solid baseline and more reliable and comparable measurements.

At the same time, we analyze Scope 3 emission categories in detail, identifying key impact areas such as:

  • procurement of raw materials and components,
  • logistics and transportation,
  • packaging and end-of-life of products.

This mapping allows us to prioritize reduction actions and develop targeted initiatives, such as material optimization, improved logistics, and more sustainable packaging solutions.

Our goal is to continue improving data quality, expanding analysis coverage, and defining concrete emission reduction strategies over time, actively contributing to the transition toward a lower-impact business model.
